|2013 SEBWA Fall Education Seminar & Plant Tour, October 11, 2013, Hamilton, GAThe Southeastern Bottled Water Association will hold the 2013 SEBWA FALL EDUCATION SEMINAR & PLANT TOUR at Callaway Blue Spring Water in Hamilton, Georgia on October 11, 2013. SEBWA members can take advantage of some great education opportunities, earn valuable continuing education credits, and tour Callaway Blue Spring Water’s plant facility and spring.
Cleaning and Sanitizing to Meet FSMA Requirements (1 CEU) – Charles Goodell, DS Waters of America Charles Goodell, Regional Quality Manager for DS Waters of America, will come in from Atlanta, GA to spend some time with attendees talking about Cleaning and Sanitizing requirements to meet new FSMA regulations. Charles attended and received a BS in Microbiology from Auburn University. After 9 years in quality control and production positions in further processing of meats industry, Charles joined Crystal Springs Water Company (Division of Suntory Water Group – later to become DSW) as a Quality Control Manager and Production Manager. In 2000, Charles was promoted to Regional Quality Manager.Charles Goodell has more than 30 years of quality assurance and regulatory compliance experience, having served the last 23 years in the Bottled Water Industry. As a Regional Quality Manager for DS Waters of America, Inc., he supports Quality Assurance needs for the Southeast, Florida, Texas, and Mountain DSW regions through development of training materials, on-site training, assistance in development QA programs such as SQF and HACCP, as well as assurance of Regulatory compliance through annual Quality and Corrective Action Quality audits.
Lead Generation -Allen Wankat, Culligan International- Allen Wankat of Culligan International will share his wealth of experience and teachings on the subject of “Lead Generation Sources”. He will cover such topics as: Thinking out of the box; Use of effective E-mail blasts; Opportunities for route drivers to generate sales leads. He will talk about, “What are you doing at home to fix your drinking water”? and “How to stay on top of the metrics with every lead generation program you employ”. Allen Wankat has been employed by Culligan Water for the past eighteen years in the positions of Regional Sales Manager, Franchise Development Manager, and currently as Regional Sales Director – SE. Allen is a University of Missouri graduate and long time SEBWA Board member. He holds an International Bottled Water Association Certified Plant Operator license. He regularly facilitates the Culligan New Dealer School. Allen and wife Marilyn live in Atlantic Beach, FL.
Callaway Blue Spring Water Plant Tour (1 CEU)
The Callaway Blue Spring Water plant has three production lines, an automated small package line, which was installed in 2005, a five-gallon unit, and a one-gallon line. The plant tour will focus on the small package line. Callaway Blue’s delivery business operates out of the same location. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the company’s nearby spring, which generates 500 gpm at 31 TDS. “It is a rare source and one we are exceedingly grateful to have,” said Ken Callaway, president and owner. The spring water is extracted by gravity and piped underground to the plant.
