New USDA water quality projects celebrate Earth Day

Despite sequestration mandated by the Budget Control Act, USDA is providing $140 million to improve water quality through its Rural Development office. Programs outlined by the Earth Day press release  will focus primarily on wastewater management. Targeting the prevention of contamination  to area groundwaters, these upgrades are a welcome response to the recent EPA study on polluted waterways. With so many of America’s waterways vulnerable to contaminants, protection of pure drinking water sources becomes more and more important. Callaway Blue natural spring water flows from a protected source. The perpetual conservation easement on the 1,000 acre surrounding watershed is a testament to the family dedication to provide a pure product for their customers. We think it’s important to know your source!
