Why is spring water better than purified water?

The spring source for Callaway Blue is filtered through a quartzite ridgeline in a protected forest, untouched by modern agricultural or industrial activity. This means you have an ultra-pure natural spring water (31 TDS). The very low level of minerality is the reason Callaway Blue has such a great taste, or some say a lack of aftertaste that characterize higher mineral content waters. Purified Water is surface water (lake or river into a municipal distribution system of pipes and ponds) that is industrially process through reverse osmosis high pressure filters..

is callaway blue carbon neutral?

The Callaway Family put the 1,000 acre forest that is the recharge watershed for  Blue Springs into a conservation easement held by the Georgia Forestry Commission. Our spring is supplied by rainfall that goes a mile or more deep into the quartzite rock over a 25 year period and then comes back to the surface at Blue Springs.  By protecting four threatened habitats and old growth forests, Callaway Blue is carbon positive. The old growth forest processes many times more carbon that Callaway Blue generates.
